Thresfield Court Care Centre are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer with an interest in gardening and allotments for their lovely allotment area where they would love to grow their own fruit and vegetables as a nice activity for the residents to get involved in.

The role will include being responsible for the plants, fruit and vegetables and spending two afternoons a week with residents in the Spring and Summer helping to pot plants or pick fruit.

The position would be any two afternoons a week that suit from 2pm.

Their current volunteer Depot Manager is hoping to pass her role over in the next 12 to 18 months time, therefore they are looking for someone to take over this role after a period of transition and training with her.

Craven Wildlife Rescue are in need of dedicated volunteers to join their 30 strong team.

At the moment it's baby season in the wildlife world and their main focus is on the care of the little ones.

As a volunteers you would be helping to give extra support with their housekeeping duties such as cleaning, tidying, hanging the washing out, filling and emptying the dish washer, keeping everything topped up and organising the store room.

The Folly in Settle are looking to recruit some new volunteers to welcome the public to their museum?

Here's the details:

They're looking for some new people to volunteer in their Visitor Welcome role that involves:

  • Greeting visitors when they arrive

  • Telling people a little bit about The Folly and the museum

  • Using the till to count visitors and sell shop products

  • Opening up or closing the museum, depending on the time of day.

Full training and a volunteer mentor are provided. You don’t need to stick to a particular day or time. Shifts are either morning (11am-1pm) or afternoon (1-4pm).

Volunteers get a range of excellent benefits, including:

  • Free tea, coffee or soft drink while on duty

  • 10% discount in our shop and café

  • Expenses for travel to The Folly

  • Opportunities to visit other museums and historic houses

  • Opportunities for museum training with other organisations
